Guest Lectures

We offer several guest lectures about our field of expertise, education. Possible subjects are special needs and inclusive education, and education and upbringing.

Education in The Netherlands has a long history, which finds its origin in the convent schools of around 750 AD, which were all about spreading Christian values and principles. Missionary work formed an important basis.

Behaviorism (around 1900) is the basis of our class-methodical teaching system. Over a century, and with it many mainstreams (behaviourism, cognitivism and constructivism) later, connectivism now made its entry. Such developments not only influence the organization of our educational system, they also introduced new ways of thinking about rearing children.

In the guest lectures, we investigate the relation between upbringing and education, with special attention for situations in which something extra is needed. How do we organize those within the scope of new laws and regulations concerning special needs and inclusive education and the transitie jeugdzorg(transition in youth care)?

The lectures are highly acclaimed by educational organizations where special needs and inclusive education and the transitie jeugdzorg(transition in youth care) are high on the agenda. By matching practice and theory, theory is exemplified.
